Learning New skills is a major part of life and we do it every day. Sometimes we don't even realise it.
But what if your looking for something specific, Where do you go to pick up these new skills.
There are some great sites in No particular order-
1. Ok this is fairly obvious - Youtube is probably the biggest free resource for finding learning material for everything from fixing a pipe to electronic engineering. However there are NO guarantees that the information is your watching is correct or sometimes safe depending on the project.Youtube
2. WikiHow.com - This site is usually My first stop for small projects. All information is free on this site. Some posts are shown as verified by an expert so you are guaranteed that the information is reliable. It is also possible to pay for an upgrade to receive free downloadable PDF's that show the Project in step by step processes. WikiHow - Missing Manuals
3. Lynda.com by Linkedin - ok This is my favourite Paid Learning site ( Monthly subscription) which I am a paid member of. I found this a few years back and love it. Since I first joined it has since been Purchased by Linkedin. Fortunately they haven't changed anything about this site ( If its not broken don't fix it). The site itself is full of Professionals in their chosen fields.
They provide detailed step by step videos along with study notes and You even receive a certificate once you have finished your course. A list of your achievements is kept and can be shared on your Linkedin Profile. Learn with Lynda
4. Udemy.com - This is a viable alternative to Lynda.com. I personally don't think its quite as polished as that site. However it does have some great courses and unlike Lynda.com it does provide some freebies courses. All courses on Udemy.com are paid on an individual basis as opposed to a monthly subscription. learn with Udemy
5. Instructables.com - A fantastic site if you like experimenting and DIY. This site is full of people who have created projects ranging from storage units to Robots. They give step by step guides on how to replicate the projects, These are rated by the community to show how good they are. If you're looking for something unique and challenging to learn this is the place to go. Be unique on Instuctables
These are only five of the sites I use personally to learn and Grow. There are Lots more - Audible, skillshare and on and on ( The internets a Big place)
Please feel free to share your favourites or the experiences you've had using the above sites. Contact me using the sidebar or Leave a comment.
I'm NOT paid for any of the above Links and some offer free Trials. so check them out. Maybe its time you Started learning something New.
